Epilogue

Reflection summary

As a graphic designer I am fascinated by the strong messages that designs can send to the viewers.  Messages found in poster, logo, package, billboard, and book cover designs grabs my attention.  It is interesting to communicate through design. As a graphic designer everyday I am learning something that enlighten me to improve my design skills.  I learned a lot from my capstone project experience. Solving design problems and introducing new design concept to the community is essential elements to a graphic designer. In this project I was introduced to the concept of sustainable design and through my process of learning about it I read Cradle to Cradle. I learn from the book Cradle to Cradle the idea of creating sustainable design that are both aesthetically and conceptually affective. In my perspective sustainable design is a combination of practical and interesting design that benefits us. I believe that through design we can change people perspective in perceiving ideas through a better sustainable design that benefits us all as a community. Good design is inspired by nature. Hence, incorporating natural resources in our design is essential and could solve a lot of problems. In my capstone project I focused on the overfishing Hamour that is a serious problem in the UAE. Therefore, promoting awareness campaign to protect Hamour from overfishing problem through maintaining a sustainable and clean marine life. The main goal is to address the problem to the community to show them that Hammour fish is suffering from human actions that lead to the decreased amount of Hammour reproduction. Moreover, people should understand that Human activities create destruction in the marine life stability. Many other issues that affected the Hammour growth due to human actions such as the sea pollution by dumping sewage and wastes in the sea those factors that makes the problem worse. Our beliefs and religion encourages the fact of caring about the animals and the environment. Therefore, our mission is to save the Hammour fish from extinction in order to live a sustainable marine environment with healthy productive Hammour fish.
